I’m Andrew. I created Code+Ink to help clients establish a digital vision for their business and then help them realise it.
I’ve spent over 15 years working as a full stack developer in design agencies and start ups. Over the years, I’ve found that this world can sometimes be impenetrable to outsiders and this serves no-one. So I’m passionate about making technology and the digital world more accessible and, well, more human.
I try not to blind you with the science (unless, of course, you’d like me to)- I pride myself on not letting tech speak get in the way of a good conversation*.
How I work
I work in an agile and collaborative way. You’ll find me partnering with an existing team or design agency who don’t necessarily have the digital expertise in-house.
Alternatively, I’ve been known to build a team from the ground up, leveraging my network to hand pick the best minds for the job at hand: from photographers, branding experts, digital designers, copywriters, developers to packaging specialists. I’m finding this gives me flexibility over more traditional models of working.
I’m motivated by joining a business on their journey (wherever that may be), developing a long standing relationship that will help them to grow.

I specialise in decoupled and modular system architecture. Integrating best of breed systems together in an application service layer, and running a CMS headless.
Language agnostic but we highly recommend ReactJS for presentation layer for it's performance, and it's design pattern enforces reusability of code.
I recommend and advocate the use of Amazon Web Services for site infrastructue. I have years of experience architecting and deploying sites over EC2, RDS, S3, Cloudfront and Elasticsearch.
Continious automated build and deployment are utilised to reduce downtime, ensure code stability, site integrity and makes for a more intelligent way for working.
